about
ABOUT HANAHIMERO

A new attraction has been born in Dogo Onsen.
This is Dogo's only teahouse where you can experience traditional Japanese performing arts and ozashiki culture.
As new forms of tourism are being explored amid the COVID-19 pandemic,
nighttime content is being developed in various regions.
In order to create a lively atmosphere in Dogo and revitalize the economy by improving the area's appeal,
Ochaya Hanahimero was renovated from an old house adjacent to the main building.
Its theme is "Dogo chic and hospitality."

  • ozashiki

Ozashiki is a place where you can experience the extraordinary with luxuriant hospitality.

Ozashiki is when a geiko, the successor of traditional performing arts,
performs buyo (Japanese traditional dance), nagauta (traditional Japanese music),
and shamisen (three-stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument).

After the performances, you can enjoy a meal and sake while chatting with the geiko.
Then it’s time for ozashiki asobi (geisha games). These innocent but hilarious games have been carefully handed down from generations.

  • Yakyuken odori

An interactive game that originated in Matsuyama.

  • Konpira fune fune

Two people sit facing a table and each person alternately picks up an object, or makes a feint. The person who reacts incorrectly to a feint loses, and must make a forfeit.

  • Kiku no hana

Sake cups are placed face down on a tray, and a chrysanthemum flower is hidden in one of the cups. When the correct cup is found, everybody cheers!

There are many other charming games to play!
